Hello!

For many people, my career path sounds pretty unique. But when I take a step back and really think about it, the main piece of my puzzle was that I changed my mind – and there certainly isn’t anything unique about that.

I’m a young professional in my late-twenties, an outdoor enthusiast, book nerd, dog mom, and constantly indecisive. I live in Poultney - one of the many rural towns in Vermont - with my partner, Matt, and our three (spoiled) dogs, one friendly cat, and six chickens. I grew up in this same rural town that I feel lucky to call home today. I went to college here, started my career here, and began a life here that I love. I hold a masters degree in business administration and work for a non-profit that focuses on economic development - two things I never would have thought I would have embarked on.

While I may not have changed my mind on where I wanted to build my life, I definitely changed my mind on what I wanted my career to be along the way. I’m here to share with you advice on career development, the importance of networking, and how to make a positive mark in this world. Changing your mind is part of the journey, and in my humble opinion, something that we need to normalize in our society.

If I’m not writing or thinking about what I want to do next in life, you’ll probably be able to find me on my kayak paddling as I contemplate what to do next, cruising the snowmobile trails while singing at the top of my lungs, sneaking one of my dogs one-too-many treats, or watching Friends reruns with Matt and three dogs sprawled on my lap.

Thank you for taking the time to hear my story and sharing my advice on career development and why changing your mind is all part of the journey. I hope that when you walk away, (or is it, “close your laptop"?) you feel empowered to try something new, think outside the box, and be confident in the decisions you’ve made and will continue to make in the years to come.

Cheers!

Kim and her dog, Tess
